"Aahhh…" I groaned in my half-asleep state. My voice cracked as it slipped out of my dry throat. My body strangely felt heavy. Did I… fall asleep? But.... how? Just how? NO nightmare... NO screaming and NO darkness. Just a stillness that felt almost foreign as it's been so long that I had this peaceful sleep. My mind wasn’t clawing at me for once. It was calm. I tried opening my eyes but the moment I tried to do it... a sharp throbbing pain burst behind my forehead. It felt like someone was hitting it with a hammer making me wince in discomfort. I flinched and squeezed my eyes shut again.
